The Need to Want
I want a flower that never dies.
I want a friend
that is as honest
as the sun is bright.
I want the moon without the starts
and small enough to fit on my keychain.
I want a plane that indefinitely flies.
I want the fun without the pain.
I want this and I want that
in every shape, form and size.
I want the biggest pie
and the biggest slice.
I want to win not once,
but twice.
And I keep losing myself
in wanting more
than just the ones that will suffice.
And yet I never ask,
not to want to ask for so much.
